About ClearForge Works

We believe that understanding yourself deeply is one of the most valuable investments you can make.

Our Story

ClearForge Works emerged from a simple observation: many people seeking psychological support felt they had to choose between clinical treatment for diagnosed conditions or generic self-help advice. There seemed to be limited space for those who simply wanted to understand themselves better, navigate life's complexities with greater awareness, or work through challenges that didn't fit neat diagnostic categories.

We established our practice to fill that gap. From the beginning, our commitment has been to offer rigorous, evidence-informed psychological work that honors the full complexity of human experience. Not everyone needs therapy in the traditional sense, but almost everyone benefits from dedicated time to examine their patterns, assumptions, and possibilities.

What started as a small consultation room in Manchester has grown into a practice serving individuals across the United Kingdom. While our reach has expanded, our core philosophy remains unchanged: real transformation requires patience, honesty, and a willingness to look at what we usually prefer to avoid.

Our Core Values

Integrity

We maintain the highest ethical standards in our practice, never compromising on confidentiality, professional boundaries, or honest communication about what we can and cannot offer.

Respect

Every person possesses inherent wisdom about their own life. Our role is to support your self-discovery, not impose predetermined solutions or judge your experiences.

Depth

Surface-level interventions produce surface-level results. We commit to doing the deeper work, even when it's slower or more challenging than quick fixes.

Growth

We believe in the human capacity for change at any stage of life. With the right support and genuine effort, meaningful transformation is always possible.

Our Team

Our practitioners bring diverse backgrounds in psychology, counseling, and psychotherapy. Each holds relevant professional qualifications and engages in ongoing supervision and professional development. What unites us is a shared commitment to ethical practice, continuous learning, and genuine care for the people we work with.

Dr. Helena Cartwright

Clinical Psychologist, Founder

With over fifteen years in clinical practice, Helena specializes in anxiety, identity development, and relationship patterns. She trained at the University of Edinburgh and maintains a particular interest in how early attachment experiences shape adult emotional life.

Marcus Thompson

Counseling Psychologist

Marcus works extensively with creative professionals and those experiencing burnout or career transitions. His approach integrates existential psychology with practical cognitive techniques, helping clients find meaning alongside symptom relief.

Dr. Anjali Patel

Psychotherapist

Anjali brings expertise in trauma-informed care and multicultural psychology. She's particularly skilled at creating safe spaces for exploring difficult emotions and helping clients develop self-compassion alongside accountability.

Our Approach to Practice

Evidence-Informed, Not Rigid

We draw from established psychological frameworks including cognitive-behavioral approaches, psychodynamic thinking, attachment theory, and mindfulness-based interventions. However, we're not dogmatic about any single method. Research provides valuable guidance, but your unique situation determines which tools and perspectives we employ.

Collaborative Partnership

This isn't a relationship where we hold all the answers and you passively receive them. You're the expert on your own experience. Our expertise lies in asking useful questions, noticing patterns, and offering frameworks that help you make sense of your inner world. Real progress happens through genuine collaboration.

Beyond Symptom Management

While reducing distressing symptoms matters, we're interested in more than just making uncomfortable feelings go away. Often, difficult emotions carry important information. Learning to listen to what anxiety, sadness, or frustration might be telling you can lead to deeper and more lasting change than simply suppressing these experiences.

Integration of Mind and Body

Psychological experiences aren't just mental events. They involve physical sensations, behavioral patterns, and relational dynamics. We pay attention to the full spectrum of your experience, recognizing that sustainable change often requires working at multiple levels simultaneously.
